Every community is subject to natural and human-made disasters of all types – earthquakes, floods, fires, and events that result in significant damage and mass casualties. Just as sustainable communities are prepared to have the smallest impact on their environment, they are also prepared to survive and recover from such events. This requires a level of preparedness and collaboration between individuals, families, businesses, and government emergency services.
